The 39th Annual Spearfish Canyon Half Marathon & 5K Run/Walk was held on Saturday, July 12, 2025. We had a record-breaking year with 576 registered participants from 33 states and Poland. Please consider joining us to celebrate our 40th race anniversary on July 11, 2026. Registration will open in January.
The HALF MARATHON is a road race down the beautiful Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway featuring limestone canyon walls blanketed with coniferous and deciduous trees along Spearfish Creek. Runners begin in Savoy at 7 AM and follow Highway 14A, Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway, to the Spearfish City Park.
The 5K starts and ends in the Spearfish City Park. Runners follow the road through the campground, connect with the bike path to the canyon parking lot, then head down the scenic byway, reconnect with the bike path, and end in the park.
