CASA of the Northern Hills - Santa Tree Helping Hands Project
NHCASA was able to bring some Christmas joy to the children who needed it most this year with the help of area residents and businesses that supported our efforts.

Five Northern Hill’s area businesses graciously hosted Christmas trees for our annual CASA Kids Tree Project. Those businesses included Alco in Lead, Lynn’s Dakota Mart in Sturgis, Perkins, Queen City Medical Center, Pioneer Bank & Trust in Spearfish, and Paminda in Belle Fourche. We would like to thank those of you who purchased gifts for children in need, the volunteers for wrapping the gifts and, of course, our wonderful advocates who delivered the gifts to families and children.
The generosity of the people in our communities is truly overwhelming! With your support, we were able to deliver more than 350 gifts to the abused and neglected children in our area! Although Christmas is not supposed to be about the gifts, for the children we serve who are away from their families and placed in foster care, the gifts may be all they have to look forward to this time of year. By sharing with a child in need, you are helping us celebrate the true meaning of Christmas, love and selfless acts of kindness.
Thank you again for making this community a great place to live and most of all, for making this a brighter Christmas for our children.
Keeping the children’s names confidential, NHCASA staff and volunteer compile the wish lists of each child and hang them on the trees. The public is invited to select a list and purchase one or more items and return them, unwrapped, to the store or to the CASA office.
