CASA of the Northern Hills - 24th ANNUAL HALF MARATHON

The 24th Annual CASA Half Marathon and 5K Run/Walk, a fundraiser for the Northern Hills Area CASA Program, will be held Saturday, July 24, 2010 and features a combined 13.1 mile run and a 5K run/walk in beautiful Spearfish Canyon. Registration begins at 5:50 until 6:45 a.m. in Spearfish City Park on Canyon Street. Busses will transport the Half Marathon participants to the start line at the top of Spearfish Canyon. The last bus will leave at 6:45 a.m. The Half Marathon begins at 7:30 a.m.

 

Five water stops will be provided along the slightly downhill, paved route. Awards will be presented to the first three runners in each category and medals to all runners who finish the Half Marathon. This is a great training race for all athletes.

 

The 5K will begin in the park at 7:15 a.m. The top two runners in each category of the 5K run will also receive medals. Competing in the timed 5K is optional. Runners and walkers may also participate in the event without being timed if they prefer.

 

The donation entry fee includes a T-shirt for each participant and is tax deductible. Early registration fees are $35 for the Half Marathon and $20 for the 5K Run/Walk if registered before July 19, 2010. After July 19, registration fees are $45 for the Half Marathon and $25 for the 5K Run/Walk. Refreshments will be provided and door prizes will be awarded at the end of the race.
